Weekday mornings you can watch fishermen bring in their catch. The 20 simple and softly colored rooms have showers rather than baths and only some are air conditioned, but this little hotel is convenient to the town center and has excellent views from its terraces. Le Lavandou is a long, narrow town with 12 different fine sand beaches pinched between the sea and the hills of the Maures. St. Clair and Aiguebelle are among the nicer ones and are good places to find pleasant, easy-going resorts.
